Good Form Running

There's a better way to run.

HOW IT WORKS

The first thing we do at the GFR clinic is give a slight introduction to the fundamental points of the GFR program: The aim is to keep it simple, the goal is to get you running faster, easier and with out injury, and the belief is that running is a SKILL to be learned and practicing these points can make all the difference in the level of quality, efficiency, and enjoyment of your running.

Next the class transitions into the filming portion where we capture the participants running: first in shoes then barefoot. This footage will be used as a reference after you go through the drilling portion of the clinic. The goal here is not to prove that we should all run barefoot, but more that it is a great tool to learn how you can run more naturally. The idea is to then run in whatever shoe works best for you (ideally fitted by a professional and offering appropriate support), be it minimal, traditional, or even alternative footwear options.

The drills portion lasts for about 25 minutes and takes you through the 4 points of GFR. It gives you a chance to practice the four points in action under direction of the GFR trainer. Tip: Do this part barefoot or in socks to really get a good feel!

Lastly, the class goes to review where you will have a chance to go over the points of GFR and see your footage on camera, having it analyzed by the instructor. Then you're off!
