    Default EMU Men's coach "resigns"

It is getting very hard to support my alma mater when they get rid of great coaches. Most people know that I really liked Maybouer and the school, for lack of a better word, SCREWED him over. And now Fairchild???? I don't know the entire story but I can't believe he would do anything that should result in losing his job! He is a great guy and a great coach. I really hope he finds something and that this change will be a blessing in disguise. I have my theories on who has been somewhat behind both of these coaches losing their jobs........but it is just my theory.

Fairchild had been warned and suspended for NCAA violations in the past. It was either get rid of a guy that can't follow the rules, or have the whole program suffer. The new head coach (John Goodridge) has far more experience and will have no problems stepping into this position.

Goodridge is the Mens Cross Country Head Coach
Fairchild was the Mens Track & Field Head Coach

This only supports my suspicion that Goodridge is a snake! Honestly, I don't think Fairchild would do ANYTHING that would cause the program at EMU to suffer....BUT I do believe Goodridge would do ANYTHING to move up to head coach.

The problem with your philosophy is that Goodridge has no power at all to have Fairchild fired. That is the AD and the University. If he were not breaking rules and putting the program at risk of NCAA violations and possible repercussions...there would be no way for him to be forced into resignation. HE made the mistakes. See how that works? Can't try to blame someone else for that...that is just unfair, especially when you don't know them.

Every D-I athletic department is a snakepit. EMU is no better or worse.

I am not blaming Goodridge, but I believe there is more to the story than any of us know and I believe Goodridge may be a part (maybe a minor part) of the EMU snakepit.
Do you know what the violations were?
